In the case of a frame for sheet-like objects, in particular objects without inherent stability, such as pictures, posters, maps and the like, comprising a plurality of frame elements connected by corner connection elements, the corner connection elements being formed by in each case two leg attachments which are in each case approximately tubular in cross-section and have lateral slots towards the inside of the frame, provision is made for the angular extent ( alpha ) of the slots (5) over the circumference of the tubular leg attachments (3) to be of such a size that the frame elements (1) are able to engage into the leg attachments (3) via these slots (5), with elastic deformation of the leg attachments. As a result, the frame elements can be placed round the object to be framed, and the corner connection elements can be engaged on, while compensating for considerable length tolerances of the frame elements. <IMAGE>
