In a method for producing a cable fitting for high-voltage cables with a strip winding of differing width which is constructed of a strip which is obliquely cut off on one side, the strip abutting tightly with the edge which is not cut off against a further strip, it is provided that a perforated strip (1) is used and that the perforation is performed in such a manner that the perforation line (2) runs obliquely from the edge (3) in the direction of the centre of the paper, and that after, winding up, a part of the strip (1) is severed along the perforation line (2) and that the conical gap (4) resulting from severing and unwinding is filled by a strip winding on both sides of the butt joint (5) formed by the edge (3). <IMAGE>
