In order to connect one or more pipes which terminate in a common fixed flange, at small intervals one beside the other, to a corresponding number of pipes which terminate in a corresponding, common loose flange, the invention proposes a remotely controllable device, in the case of which centring and mounting aids, which are described in detail, are provided. The latter make it possible, by turning only a single screw, to connect this flange to the fixed flange and, if appropriate, also to release it from the same once again. In this arrangement, the front, hook-shaped ends of catching arms mounted in an oblique guide of the loose flange engage behind the fixed-flange border which is undercut in the form of a wedge and in which the rear ends, mounted such that they can move in a bush, of the catching arms are moved in an axis-parallel manner with respect to the pipe ends. The bush exhibits an internal thread and an internal toothing arrangement and can be moved by means of a rotatably mounted bolt provided with a gear wheel.
