Pressure element for the toothed rack of toothed-rack steering systems, whose pressure face is covered with a film made of polytetrafluoroethylene. In known pressure elements, the PTFE film is either bonded on or attached to the pressure element by means of bent-out film tabs which engage in slot-shaped pockets of the pressure element. In the new pressure element, the applied film is anchored to the pressure element by means of at least one positively engaging connection which is produced with ultrasonic sound. This produces a cost-effective design of convenient dimensions. <IMAGE>
