Washing machine or washer drier with a lye pump and lint filter. Lint filter devices are known in run-off systems of automatic washing machines and occasionally have to be removed for cleaning purposes. When the filter housing is opened, residual water remaining in the run-off system can flow out of the housing of the machine, and this has an adverse effect in the case of washing machines integrated in kitchen lines. The design according to the invention of the lint filter and of the filter housing is to prevent the residual water from flowing out of the appliance. In order to prevent the water from flowing out of the appliance, when the filter insert (3) is removed a blocking insert (2) closes the inflow connection (4) and the delivery connection (5) of the lye-pump unit. The blocking insert (2) is pressed into its closing position when the removal handle (9) for the filter insert (3) is actuated. Washing machines with a lint filter designed according to the invention are especially suitable for installation in kitchen lines. <IMAGE>
