The invention relates to a bending and hardening device 20 for glass, which contains a pair of opposing bending plates 24 for receiving a heated glass pane 22 to be bent therebetween. At least one bending plate 24 is deformable and contains a drive device 32 for changing the shape of the plate from a regular shape to a bent shape in order to bend the heated glass pane.
