An audio transducer (10) includes a diaphragm (42) having webs (44, 46) extending, along a central expanse (48) between opposed magnetic field means (60, 62). Centering means (72) extend through the expanse (48) and are secured to a clamp (80) which is adjustably fixed to the transducer frame (12). Centering means (72) provides passive lateral centering of expanse (48) above a predetermined frequency and actively restrains movement of the expanse (48) in the plane thereof when the transducer (10) is operated at or below the predetermined frequency. |
