NUMERICAL CONTROL APPARATUS

A numerical control apparatus which effects the interpolation control based on the spline interpolation function. A designated sequence of points are successively connected in accordance with a cubic spline curve to interpolate the spline curve that is found. A spline curve is determined by a preprocessing means (5) based on the designated position and a spline interpolation instruction thereof, and interpolation means (6) calculates the moving amount per unit time in a tangential direction of the determined spline curve to control the moving portion such that the given point sequences are smoothly connected. Unlike the conventional art, therefore, no automatic programming device is necessary to smoothly connect the point sequence.
