<p>A device is claimed for measuring the temp. of a bath of molten metal and compries an element in contact with the metal bath that assures the transmission of the radiation issuing from the bath towards the measuring appts. which may be a radiation issuing from the bath towards the measuring appts. which may be a radiation pyrometer. This element is made of a material that is suitably resistant to the mechanical demands as well as to the chemical and thermal attack of the molten metla. Suitable materials include magnesia, alumina and zirconia. It is also possible in some applications for the element to be fixed and cooled in a particular manner appropriate to the circumstances under which the temp. measurements are to be made.</p> |
