PURPOSE:To produce a superconductive layer evenly throughout the whole length and to increase the mechanical strength by heat-treating a coverage layer consisting of Cu formed on a base material, and the elements of a mixture layer including A element, B element, and Cu, to diffuse each other to produce a superconductive layer, in the manufacture of an A-B-Cu-O system oxide superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of an oxide superconductive material of a general formula A-B-Cu-O (where A is one or more of the periodic table group IIIa elements such as Y, Sc, La, Yb, Er, Ho, And Dy, and B is one or more of the periodic table group IIa elements such as Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and ba), a coverage layer consisting of Cu is formed at the outer surface of a metallic base material to make a covered material. Then a mixture layer is formed at the outer surface of the covered material to make a complex material. The mixture layer includes A element, B element, and Cu in a specific ratio. A heat treatment is applied to the complex material to diffuse the elements of the coverage layer and the mixture layer each other to produce an oxide superconductive layer. This heat treatment is divided into two processes, the intermediate treatment at the temperature lower than that to produce a superconductor, and the final treatment. |
