PURPOSE:To restore the function of a waste gas desulfurization equipment, by mixing the absorbing slurry of an absorbing slurry sump tank with the absorbing slurry falling through an absorbing tower and continuously measuring the pH of the absorbing slurry mixture to set the pH of the absorbing slurry. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas 13 is guided to an absorbing tower 1 to be brought into contact with the absorbing slurry of the liquid sump tank 3 supplied and injected by a pump 5 and desulfurized to be discharged from a gas outlet 14. Next, the absorbing slurry absorbing SO2 from the waste gas 13 is returned to the tank 3 and a part of the slurry having SO2 absorbed thereby falling through the absorbing tower 1 is collected by a receiver 2 to be sent to a mixer 6 and a part of the absorbing slurry sent to the upper part of the tower 1 by the pump 5 is also sent to the mixer 6 by piping 7 and the pH of the slurry mixture of the mixer 6 is measured by the electrode 9 of a pH meter. In the presence of a sulfurous acid ion, the precipitation of manganese oxide as a solid phase is prevented. Therefore, the restoration of the function of the waste gas desulfurization equipment can be achieved. |
