PURPOSE:To make chemical formation charging efficient and prolong the life compatibly by forming an electrode plate for lead-acid battery by the use of a paste consisting of lead oxide containing minium and yellow litharge, water, and sulfuric acid as major components. CONSTITUTION:As main components lead oxide containing minium and yellow litharge, water, and sulfuric acid are kneaded to provide a paste containing the yellow litharge 10-30wt.% of total lead oxides, and an electrode plate for lead-acid battery is formed from this paste. Poor reactivity of the yellow litharge with sulfuric acid equips it with a nature not easier softening as active substance, so that the active substance binding force is strengthened as a whole. Accordingly increase of the yellow litharge retards the softening speed of active substances generated through iterative charging/discharging to allow maintenance of the bond between active substances for a long period of time, which prevents early slipping-off of the active substance from lattice. Thus the life is prolonged to a great extent while charging efficiency and initial characteristics are maintained. |
