摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the utilization factor of a sensitive material by correcting latent image potential characteristics obtained on the position of every basic color to be equal to the characteristic which should be obtained on measuring position by a characteristic measuring means based on the electrostatic charging characteristic of the sensitive material so that the latent image is formed in a 1st latent image forming means in a preprocessing means. CONSTITUTION:The preprocessing means 2 measures the latent image potential characteristics on the respective previously set positions of the sensitive material 1 every basic color preceding the formation of a color image and a characteristic correction means 6 corrects the obtained measured result based on the electrostatic charging characteristic according to the positions of the sensitive material. The correction of the latent image potential characteristic in the characteristic correction means 6 is used for correcting difference between measured results based on the difference between a latent image potential characteristic measuring position in the preprocessing means 2 and said measuring position in the characteristic measuring means 4. Namely, the latent image potential characteristics obtained on the position of every basic color in the preprocessing means 2 are corrected to be equal to the characteristics which should be obtained on the measuring position in the characteristic measuring means 4 based on the electrostatic charging characteristic according to the positions of the sensitive material 1, considering the respective measuring positions. Thus, the utilization factor of the sensitive material can be improved.
