<p>PURPOSE:To simplify operation and to enhance reliability, in the title apparatus for discriminating the kind of a liquid by detecting the color of transmitted luminous flux, by constituting said apparatus only of a convex lens, an optical fiber, a photodetector and a control means. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 1 is guided to the convex lens 4 of a liquid kind detection part 3 by a light emitting fiber 2 to reach a convex lens 6 as transmitted luminous flux 5 and condensed to a light receiving fiber 7 to be guided to a color sensor 8. A glass plate 9 is arranged on the way of the luminous flux 5 and reflected light 10 is condensed to a reflected light fiber 12 by a convex lens 11. Further, the reflected light is guided to a photodetector 13 to impart a quantity-of-light signal to a control means 14 and this control means 14 applies a liquid presence signal 15 of 'liquid absence' to a liquid kind judge means 16 when the quantity of light is large along with the output of the sensor 8 and applies the liquid presence signal 15 of 'liquid presence' to said means 16 when the quantity of light is small in the same way. Only when the liquid is present, the kind of the liquid is judged on the basis of the output of the sensor 8.</p> |
