PURPOSE:To produce a superconductive layer evenly throughout the whole length and to increase the mechanical strength by applying a heat treatment to diffuse Cu of a coverage layer formed at the outer surface of a base material, Cu and O of a copper oxide layer, and A element, B element, and Cu of a mixture layer each other to produce a superconductive layer, in the manufacture of an A-B-Cu-O system oxide superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of an oxide superconductive material of a general formula A-B-Cu-O (where A is one or more of the periodic table group IIIa elements such as Y, Sc, La, Yb, Er, Eu, Ho, aud Dy, and B is one or more of periodic table group IIa elements such as Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba), a coverage layer consisting of Cu is formed at the outer surface of a base material to produce a covered material. Then, at the outer surface of the covered material, a copper oxide layer is formed. After that, at the outer surface of the copper oxide layer, a mixture layer is formed to obtain a complex material.
