The earth working machine has a frame part, in which a number of upwards extending shafts of working components are located. The frame also contains the drive for the working components. Between the underside of the frame part (1) and one working component (9) a protective plate (17) is fitted, removably located against the frame. The plate extends over the complete length and breadth of the frame part, and it is fixed to both the front and rear of the frame. Its fixture is actually to the edge of the lower art of the frame, which part is U-shaped in cross section and covered on top by a plate.
