PURPOSE:To tighten close contact of the base with active substance by making a certain amount of discharging of a sealed lead-acid battery of neg. electrode absorption type which is charged ready, leaving it in no loaded condition, and carrying out charging. CONSTITUTION:A sealed storage battery of neg. electrode gas absorption type which is charged ready, is discharged more than 100% of its nominal capacity, and left in no loaded condition. As sealed lead storage battery of neg. electrode absorption type to then be charged has restriction about its liquid amount, discharging more than 100% of the nominal capacity approaches the pH of the electrolyte to the neutral zone, and when it is left in this condition, corrosion reaction due to dissolution of Pb as the base makes progress to thicken the corrosion layer with longer left period. When this battery is now charged, a sealed type lead-acid battery is obtained which has good close contact of the base with the active substance. |
