The cellulosic fibrous material is impregnated with a mixt. contg. 70 parts by wt. of chlorinated hydrocarbon, around 16 parts benzene, 12 parts paraffinic oil, 2 parts vegetable resin as hardener and traces of castor oil as plasticiser. The cellulosic sheets are stabilised against moisture by treatment with a prod. contg. around 40-24 parts by wt. of low mol. wt. chlorinated hydrocarbon, 6-50 parts benzene and up to 22 parts aluminium stearate dissolved in paraffinic oil.
