The invention relates to roller shafts, as well as to the rollers intended to equip conveying installations. The shaft for a conveyor roller or roll consists of a central cylindrical rod 2 equipped with a first shoulder 3 in contact with one of the inner rolling rings 6 and with a second shoulder 4 serving as a stop for a spring 5, which spring 5 bears on the other inner rolling ring 7.
