PURPOSE:To prepare a low-cost, large-area photo-electric conversion layer by constituting a photo-activation layer including a specified azo pigment which is sandwiched by two electrodes (front and rear ones). CONSTITUTION:A photo-activation layer contains mainly a pigment shown by the formula I (wherein, A is a coupler residue and n an integer 1-6). This layer may contain an azo pigment only or be dispersed in resine. When dispersed, a pigment to resion ratio is 10/0-1/4 (in weight) and preferably 10/10-1/2. If required by a pigment, it is mixed in a proper medium together with a resin additive, and the pigment is crushed by means of a ball mill or the like to obtain a uniform slurry or the pigment is dissolved in an organic amine solvent. The layer is formed by applying the above treated pigment to a front electrode or a rear one on a supporter. |
