<p>PURPOSE:To ensure uniformity of printed density upon recording, by dividing n gate circuits into (m) groups (m<n, n is a multiple of m), and providing an m-stage second shift register. CONSTITUTION:Sixty-four gate circuits 301-364 are divided into 8 groups. An 8-stage second shift register 23 is provided which outputs internal ENABLE signals on a stage basis. An image signal inputted synchronously with a first clock signal is outputted by a first shift register 21, and is latched by a latch circuit 22. ENABLE signals inputted to an ENABLE signal terminal 14-1 are inputted, in series, to the second shift register circuit 23 synchronously with a clock signal from a second clock signal input terminal 15-1, and are outputted in parallel as 1st-8th internal ENABLE signals. The gate circuits 301-364 are controlled on a group basis to cause driving circuits 401-464 to be active/ inactive, so that electric power is applied to heat generating elements 501-564 with a unit of 8-dot width for each 64 dots over the entire length of a thermal head, whereby a thermal recording paper is developed into a color.</p> |
