<p>PURPOSE:To enable to perform stable running and orienting at high speed by a constitution wherein two kinds of links or long and short links constitute the pantograph link of the orienting device for orienting plastic resin film. CONSTITUTION:Endless chain links for holding and orienting film consists in coupling special pantograph links 10. A slidable guide piece 22 and a fixed guide piece 21 are mounted to an auxiliary link 40, at one end of which a holder 41 to hold film is provided, and the short links 11 and 12 and long links 13 and 14 connect between both the guide pieces 21 and 22, which run along two pair of rails 23 and 24 arranged on both sides of film with no levitation. In addition, when the distance between two pair of rails at both sides is widened, film is oriented breadthwise, while when the distance between the rails 23 and 24 is reduced, film is oriented lengthwise. In this case, because the pitch of the short link is made coincide with the pitch of a sprocket 50, the running of the short link with respect to the endless rails 23 and 24 is smooth, resulting in enabling to run at high speed. Furthermore, because the auxiliary link is located normal to the direction of running at all times, stable orienting is performed.</p> |
