PURPOSE:To enable dots to be printed at the same interval even in the ununiform-speed linear motion of a dot printing mechanism, by a method wherein, the pulse cycle of a timing pulse is constantly detected, and an execution time for printing according to the travel speed of the dot printing mechanism at each position is set. CONSTITUTION:The speed of a guide 12 is varied in sine wave form, and slits 21 turn ON/OFF a light projected from a projector 23. Therefore, the light detection pulse output of a receptor 24 serving as the output of a timing sensor 20 has a long cycle Ti at a position where a velocity Vi of a hammer bank 11 is low and has a short cycle Ti with a high velocity Vi where Ti is inversely proportional to Vi. A one shot circuit detects the rising of a timing pulse generated by the timing sensor 20 and outputs a one shot pulse having a short pulse width. The printing conducted at the rising of the timing pulse results in dots that are printed accurately at the same interval. |
