PURPOSE:To reduce heat required for the scattering of ink, electrostatic energy and prolong the life of a recording head by constituting an electrostatic field- forming means with a plurality of head-side electrodes which selectively coat the high temperature part of each thermal resistor through an insulative layer and an electrode for electrostatic induction arranged in an opposite position to an opening for the flight of ink. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic field-forming means 6 is composed of a comb- like head side electrode 19 which is divided in individual electrodes in such a way as to cover the center 18, which is a high temperature area, of each thermal resistor 13, a roll-like electrode for electrostatic induction 20 which functions as a supporting surface of recording sheet, and a power supply for electrostatic induction which forms an electrostatic field running from an ink 3 surface to the side of the electrode for electrostatic induction 20. Consequently, an electrostatic field can be concentrated in unit ink areas where a thermal resistor 13 is provided. Therefore, the building up of heat is prevented by releasing heat energy in the center 18 of each thermal resistor 13. At the same time, the dissipation of heat energy in the both edges 22, which are a low temperature area, of each thermal resistor 13 is prevented. |
