A pneumatically-operated percussion device comprises a casing (1) inside which is movably mounted a percussion piston dividing the hollow of the casing (1) into two chambers. One chamber (7) is alternately connected to a compressed air source and to the atmosphere by means of an air distributor (3) provided with a movable executing element (8) and mounted in the casing (1). Furthermore, the chamber (7) is connected through a throttle channel (27), to the chamber (10) of the air distributor (3), the pressure in said chamber being maintained by the movement of the executing element (8) to one of the extreme positions.
