PURPOSE:To enable continuous high-precise machining of various involute curves, by a method wherein the foundation circle of an involute curve is rotated, and a machining curve is obtained from the locus of a tool moved on the tangential line of a circle in proportional to a rotation angle. CONSTITUTION:During machining of a machining involute curve 1, a foundation circle B is set to a position allowing it to be displaced on an Y-axis by a radius (b). As a result, an X-axis forms a tangential line to the foundation circle B, and simultaneously it is also the normal of the involute curve 1. With this state, an NC device 6 drives a rotation means 3, a rotational movement is exerted on a workpiece 2 around the foundation circle B serving as a rotation center, and linear movement motion is exerted in an X-axis on a tool 4 by means of a guide moving means 5. A current movement amount of linear movement motion proportions a rotation amount, and is provided by means of a linear movement distance b.alpha. As noted above, when rotation movement is exerted on the workpiece 2 by means of the involute machining device 1 and simultaneously the tool 4 is linearly moved in the X-axis, the machining locus of the tool 4 forms the machining involute curve 1. |
