<p>During the continuous processing of thermoplastic yarns, esp. with false twisting, the yarns are mechanically deformed, and the deformation is fixed in at least one heat treatment zone; warm air being fed into the zone and sucked away from it, as the yarn passes over special heating arrangements. The air fed through the heating zone is obtained from outside the room containing the installation and is raised in temp. by passing through an exchanger heated by the exhaust air from the heat treatment zone. The method reduces the amt. of energy required for the conditioning of the workroom for the same throughput and prevents any condensation of the vapours on the heat treatment surfaces.</p> |
