On the fixed stand of a piece of reclining furniture, a pendulum frame (51) is suspended in a freely oscillating manner via several tension members (52). Supporting elements of the pendulum frame project into the box-shaped bases (3) of the stand, which supporting elements can be combined with a device (54) for limiting the amplitude and with a damping device (56,57). The frame is locked to the stand at positions outside its central position. The frame (68) may be supported on the stand (65) by balls (69) or springs and is provided with an oscillating weight (76).
