PURPOSE:To make a special memory circuit for data storage unnecessary for an external controller and thereby obtain an economical image formation system by providing a non-volatile storage means which is shared by the external controller and an imaging device inside the imaging device. CONSTITUTION:A non-volatile memory 64 is a memory circuit for the control of a laser printer 1, and stores data such as control program held by an external controller 60. When the external controller 60 writes held data into the non- volatile memory 64, a write command, a write address and write data are sequentially supplied to a control circuit 62 from the external controller 60 through an interface bus 61. Then the circuit 62 writes the write data into an address corresponding to the memory 64. In addition, when the controller 60 reads data from the memory 64, a read command and a read address are sequentially supplied to the circuit 62 from the controller 60. The circuit 62 reads the contents of a corresponding address of the memory 64 and outputs the contents which are red to the external controller 60. |
