Remote-controlled musical instrument, characterised in that it comprises a single string 2, tensioned between two points 3, 4 which are integral with a neck 8, and in that the working length of the string is changed, on the one hand, by means of fixed fingers 11, distributed along the said string, and, on the other hand, by means of a mobile finger 13, which can be moved along the said string, each of the fingers 11-13 being capable of being applied against the string by the operation of remotely actuated mechanisms. The string 2 is excited by a plurality of disks 19-20-21, each of them being capable of being brought into contact with the string 2. <IMAGE>
