<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the excellent tracking at the time of reproducing a still picture under the still reproducing or intermittent reproducing by varying the control timing of a capstan motor automatically against a load fluctuation of a video tape. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reproducing the still picture under the still reproducing or intermittent reproducing, individual difference frequencies 15 and 16 of adjacent video tracks to a video track obtained by multiplicatively processing a reproducing pilot signal (from a pilot signal generating circuit) 14; are compared with each other by a level comparator 19. Then, the brake pulse generating timing for the capstan motor at the time of shifting to a still picture of the next still reproducing or intermittent reproducing is corrected by using a tracking error detecting output from the level comparator 19. By this method, since the control timing is automatically corrected, a video head can be positioned in the best tracking position.</p> |
