The invention consists of a process to prevent fibres from being compressed and flaking in an intake box fitted with a hole roller (2). Near the side wall (4) between the storage package (5) and the hole roller (2), there is a space (14) into which water is usually conducted. In addition, in order to guarantee an even quality in the fibre in an economical and reliable way, the fibrous mass is conducted between the support casing (10) and the surface of the side wall's (4) opening (13) to the space (14) and from there on to the intake box.
