PURPOSE:To obtain the title foam which is lightweight and excellent in rigidity, heat insulation, sound absorption, etc., by reacting a polyol with an excess amount of an isocyanate in the presence of water and/or an organic blowing agent. CONSTITUTION:A polyol (A) (e.g., ethylene glycol) is reacted with a stoichiometrically excess amount (1.05-5 times) of an isocyanate (B) in the presence of 1.2-5pts.wt., per pt.wt. component B, water and/or an organic blowing agent (e.g., monochlorotrifluoromethane) to obtain a thermoplastic foam. This foam is sprayed with water or steam and heated to 100-150 deg.C to react an unreacted isocyanate in it with water to cure the foam. |
