The furniture assembly comprises a fixed frame (1) with a seat (7) and a back (8) structure. A headrest frame (9) is hinged to the upper part (4a) of the fixed frame, to the top of the back structure. The back structure is pivotally connected to the seat structure, which is itself connected (10,11) to the fixed frame. The seat structure may be moved forwardly and rearwardly. In a normal sitting position, the back structure is upright and the headrest is inclined backwardly out of use. For a semi-reclined position, the seat moves forward, theback is inclined at an angle and the headrest assumes a more upright position.
