The invention proposes the use of micro perforated plates (2) as atomizers of gas in liquid. The micro perforated plate (2) is mounted in a socket (1) and secured with a sealing joint (3). The compression space between socket (1) and micro perforated plate (2) is supplied, via the air entry opening (1b), e.g. with compressed air which emerges in finely atomized form from the nozzles (2a) into the liquid. The air atomizer is also suitable for sewage water and bath water containing oily additives because it repels dirt (stainless steel) and can be easily cleaned by ultrasound. <IMAGE>
