PURPOSE:To enhance the utiliziation coefficient of a ship carrier having two launching ways when a floating body having a flat bottom which is narrower than the width of the ship carrier is built, by making the floating body aside to one side of the ship carrier and by building another structure on the other side of the ship carrier. CONSTITUTION:When a floating body such as, for example, a floater for a petroleum digging rig or a barge, having a flat bottom narrower than the width of a ship carrier 1, the floating body 3 is put aside to one side of the ship carrier 1 and is supported by supports 4 positioned on both side of one launching way 2, and another structure is built on the other side of the ship carrier 1 so that the utilization coefficient of the latter is enhanced. Further, when the floating body 3 is launched, the supports 4 are removed away so that the floating body 3 is launched by means of only one launching way 2. For example, when a floating body of a flat bottom type having a width of about 16.5m, a length of about 90m, a height of a gravitational center of about 5.6m and a weight of about 2,100 tons, is launhced through a launching way having a width of 2.4m, a length on land of 119m and an inclination of 55/1,000, the maximum speed upon launching is 12 knots and therefore, stable launching may be carried out. |
