The invention relates to a support chock which is intended in particular for use in pneumatic stowing operations and can be used in greatly varying seam thicknesses. The stabilising of the support chock is alternatively effected by means of prop holders (15) which are detachably mounted on the floor member (6) and have clamping jaws (18) clamping lower props (4'). In thicker seams, these prop holders (15) can be dismantled, in which case a guide-bar mechanism is now used to stabilise the support chock. The guide bars of the guide-bar mechanism are attached to fixed connecting brackets (22, 30) of the support chock. The bottom connecting bracket (30) is located in the area of the face-side props (4) of the support chock, while the top connecting bracket (22) is expediently arranged in front of the face-side props on the roof bar (1).
