A description is given of a dog clutch for motor-vehicle transmissions, especially motor cycle transmissions, which has improved power transmission to the load-bearing surfaces (5) of the dogs and is simpler to produce. For this purpose, one or more dogs (3) of a driver ring (1) or of an associated actuating ring are provided on their load-bearing surface (5) with a flexible facing (6) having an abrasion-resistant protective plate (7) attached to it. By virtue of the compensating action of the flexible facing (6) there is a reduction in the shock at the periphery of all the dogs during the operation of the clutch and uniform force transmission to all the dogs is achieved (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
