This invention is an articulated robot for laser beam machining. This robot comprises a main body reciprocatingly movable along a first straight line and multi-joint arm assembly mounted on the main body. A first arm is rotatably connected to a base portion through a first joint, and a second arm is connected to the first arm through a joint so as to be rotatable around a rotating axis. There is a nozzle member and an optical system for leading a laser beam which is supplied along the first rotating axis parallel to the first rotating line, from a laser beam source to the nozzle member. There is a through-hole which extends in parallel to the main body direction and is used to guide the light beam.
