发明名称 Internal combustion engine with cam mechanism on the two-stroke principle
摘要 In current internal combustion engines of conventional construction, disadvantages of a mechanical nature are still inherent in the crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons; for example a large design cost is necessary in order to minimise inertial forces. For this purpose, it is necessary to use balancing shafts and counterweights. It may furthermore be mentioned that all parts connecting the crankshaft to the piston by way of the connecting rod must be designed as bearings. The design cost is high and there are disadvantages in the form of friction and heat. In the conventional construction, piston tilting is thus unavoidable. The disadvantages, only partially listed here, can be considerably reduced by the abovementioned invention. Since the cylindrical piston will continue to be indispensable in the construction of internal combustion engines, a new course can be pursued by means of the cam mechanism, see Fig. 3 in the abovementioned embodiment. This design form with opposing cylinders can also be designed with a plurality of cam units in in-line construction. Another possibility for control in the inlet and exhaust area in two-stroke engines is to obtain an improved efficiency by rotating the pistons which are provided with a bevelled edge. A four-stroke construction is feasible. <IMAGE>
