The invention relates to a process and to an apparatus for repairing a buried sewer pipe which consists of stoneware, concrete or the like and into which at least one inflow opens. Sewer pipes of this type are either exchanged or repaired if they are damaged. However, it has only been possible, up until now, to repair sewer pipes with a relatively large internal diameter. In the case of sewer pipes with a small internal diameter, it has not been possible, up until now, to shut off the inflows and thus prevent the supply of sewage during the repair procedure. In order now also to be able to repair sewer pipes which consist of stoneware, concrete or the like and have a diameter of from approximately 150 mm to 500 mm, the invention proposes that a shut-off bubble (23) be transported, by means of a carriage (4) which can be displaced in the sewer pipe (1), from a sewer manhole (2) as far as the respective inflow (3) and there be moved, by a pivotable gripper (21), into the inflow (3), being inflated in a sealing manner and secured, and that the opening (46) be produced in a drawn-in, hardened inner liner (40) by a milling unit (41), which can be positioned on the carriage (4), and the shut-off bubble (23) subsequently be deflated and removed. <IMAGE>
