发明名称 IRON HEAD HAVING LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY
摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To increase hardness and to improve wear resistance and the repulsive property of a ball at the time of impact by constituting the respective parts, such as hosel, neck, heel and sole of a head of cores of iron alloy having a large sp. gr. and embedding the cores by casting with an aluminum alloy having a low sp. gr. CONSTITUTION: The hosel part 1a, neck part 1b, heel part 1c, sole part 1d, lower part 1e of the toe part and the weight part if for a low centroid structure of the iron head are formed of the cores l composed of a stainless steel. Next, a fiber molding obtd. by solidifying SiC whiskers having a diameter of about 1μm is formed. The aluminum alloy is then packed into the fiber molding of the SiC whiskers to provide the molding with a composite layer 3 of 5mm thickness at the time of embedding the cores l by casting with the aluminum alloy. The composite layer 3 is adequately 0.5 to 10mm and the fiber volumetric rate of the fiber molding consisting of the inorg. whiskers and/or short fibers is properly selected in a range of 5 to 30%. As a result, the high hardness and the excellent wear resistance are obtd. The low centroid structure to improve the repulsive property of the golf ball is thus obtd.</p>
