The invention relates to a phase spacer (3, 3', 3'') for a high-voltage overhead line for the insulating spacing and mechanical coupling of two multiple (bundle) conductors (1, 1', 1'') which carry in each case one phase of the overhead line. The stranded conductors (2, 2') of the multiple conductors (1, 1', 1'') are in each case held at a distance from each other by field spacers (15, 15', 15''). The phase spacer (3, 3', 3'') has a central distance part (distance tube 4) and, attached thereto in each case on the end side, long-rod insulators (6), and in each case one hinge part between the free ends of the long-rod insulators (6) and the field spacers (15, 15', 15'') between the stranded conductors (2, 2') of the multiple condutors (1, 1', 1''). The two hinge parts between the phase spacer (3, 3', 3'') and the field spacers (15, 15', 15'') are in each case designed as supporting brackets (14) which are approximately C-shaped in the longitudinal direction and are aligned with their longitudinal central plane essentially vertically and at right angles to the stranded conductor direction. One end of each bracket (14) is fixed to the long-rod insulator (6), while at the other end the field spacer (15, 15', 15'') is mounted in its centre of mass (gravity) so as to be pivotable around an axis (swivel bearing bolt 16) which is arranged parallel to the stranded conductor direction. The longitudinal axis (12) of the long-rod insulator (6) and the connecting line (17) between the swivel bearing axis (swivel bearing bolt 16) and the fixing point of the bracket (14) on this long-rod insulator (6) run coaxially with respect to each other. <IMAGE>
