PURPOSE:To rotate a hydraulic turbine with the flow of a planned effective head, by setting up a second duct line provided with a flow regulating valve, which operates when a first duct line becomes more than the said effective head, in parallel with the first duct line. CONSTITUTION:When a gate valve 17 in a first duct line 14 is opened while another gate valve 18 in a by-pass pipe 19 is closed, a fluid at an upstream side part 11a of a duct line 11 flows into the first duct line 14, rotating a hydraulic turbine 13. At this time, when an increase in pressure at the upstream side part 11a of the duct line 11, that is, an increase in flow is larger than the planned quantity, a flow regulating valve 15 in a second duct line 16 operates whereby a rate of surplus flow of a portion for surplus differential pressure flows into a downstream side part 11b of the duct line 11 and on the other hand, a rate of flow running into the hydraulic turbine 13 is always in accord with an almost fixed planned flow rate despite the increase of flow at the upstream side part 11a of the duct line 11, so that the hydraulic turbine 13 is always driven at the vicinity of a planned maximum efficient point, besides being driven at such revolving speed as congruous to the required speed of a generator 2. |
