PURPOSE:To obtain the titled monofilament outstanding in transparency, flexibility and knot strength, by using, as the raw material, a composition comprising a polyamide from epsilon-caprolactam and a second polyamide from aliphatic diamine and isophthalic acid and/or terephthalic acid. CONSTITUTION:First, a composition is prepared by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a polyamide made chiefly from epsilon-caprolactam with (B) 0.5-20pts.wt. of a second polyamide made from an aliphatic diamine and isophthalic acid and/or terephthalic acid and, if needed, (C) 5-20pts.wt., based on 100pts.wt. of the component A plus B, of epsilon-caprolactam and (D) 0.1-0.5pt.wt., based on 100pts.wt. of the component A plus B, of bisamide(s) of formula I and/or II (R<1> is divalent hydrocarbon; R<2> and R<3> are each monovalent hydrocarbon; R<4> and R<5> are each H or R<2>). Thence, the composition is brought to melt spinning into monofilament which is then cooled with cooling water at <=25 deg.C followed by drawing by a factor of 3-5 at 0-100 deg.C, further drawing by a factor of 1.1-2 in a hot air at 250-350 deg.C and then annealing in a hot air at 250-350 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective monofilament. |
