This invention is a portable tool which does not need any starting device and has a linear motor worked by combustion. This self- starting portable tool comprises a housing, a combustion chamber in the housing, a motor member exposed to combustion byproducts in the combustion chamber, an operating member connected to the motor member, a fuel-supply device to the combustion chamber, a turbulence generator, an independent operator of the turbulence generator and an igniting means which is designed to drive the motor so as to operate the operating member.
