This invention relates to a method for producing Growth Factor-like domain (GFD) altered, single chain urokinase (scuPA)-derived, glycosylated plasminogen activators (hereinbelow referred to also as GASGAs). The compounds of the invention are preferably prepared by genetic engineering of the uPA coding DNA and possess improved pharmacological properties.
