PURPOSE: To make it easy to mount the elastic connector on a substrate and reduce defects in contacting by applying a force to an area where the insertion groove of an insulator is not formed in such a direction that the insulator is compressed, and expanding the opening part of the insertion groove. CONSTITUTION: When the force in the compression direction is applied to the area where the insertion groove 12 of the insulator 11 is not formed, the compressed insulator 11 deforms toward the insertion groove 12 and the surface of the insulator 11 in the area where the insertion groove 12 is formed is drawn to where the compressed insertion groove 12 is not formed. Consequently, the opening part of the insertion groove 12 which is made open in the flank of the insulator 11 is expanded and the elastic connector can easily be mounted on the substrate 2 where a conductor pattern 21 is formed without cutting the flank of the insertion groove 12 off by the substrate 2. Namely, when the elastic connector is mounted on the substrate 2, no cutting scrap is produced, so a defect in contacting between a conductor and the conductor pattern due to cutting scraps can be eliminated. |
