A detonation body, containing an explosive charge (3) and a fragmentation layer (5) which consists of an explosive body with weakened wall regions (8) such that it decomposes into loose fragments when the explosive charge detonates. The fragmentation layer is surrounded by an inner (6) and an outer (7) protective layer, the material and the thickness (density) of the protective layers (6, 7) and of the fragment layer (5) being selected such that (p2-p1) < sigma and (p2-p3) < sigma , where p1, p2 and p3 are the amplitudes of the pressure waves in the said sequence which are produced by the detonation of the explosive charge (3) in the inner protective layer (6), the fragmentation layer (5) and the outer protective layer (7) respectively, and sigma is the dynamic strength of the fragmentation layer (5). <IMAGE> |
