PURPOSE:To promote fixing a ceramic honeycomb with no breakdown by providing a ceramic supporting bar integrally with the ceramic honeycomb, which constitutes an exhaust gas purifying catalytic carrier or the like, and inserting this bar into a hole part of the other ceramic honeycomb thereafter to be fixed to a supporting frame. CONSTITUTION:Inserting a ceramic bar 12, integrally formed with a ceramic honeycomb 11, into a hole part 4 provided in the plane of a ceramic honeycomb 1, this ceramic bar 12 is fixed by using a tightening fixture 9 to a supporting frame 6 arranged in a metal pipe 3 and having an opening part for fluid to flow. While the ceramic honeycomb 1 is fixed by the supporting frame 6 and the ceramic bar 12 being prevented from moving to the direction of flow of the fluid. By the structure thus obtained, forming an air gap 10 between the metal pipe 3 and the ceramic honeycombs 1, 11, force is prevented from acting on an external peripheral surface of the ceramic honeycombs 1, 11, that is, in the diagonal direction of a quadrangle cell with the weakest rigidity, and the ceramic honeycombs 1, 11 are prevented from breakdown. |
